Sažetak
In this paper two very important multivariante statistical methods are presented, in one hand discriminant analysis as representative of dependent and in other hand factor analysis as representative of independent methods. The basic aims and the basic mathematical and geometrical concepts for both methods are pointed out. Besides, very briefly are presented two examples of problems from technical practice on which these methods could be favorable applied. For discriminant analysis the problem from production management field, and for factor analysis the problem condition based maintenance field are presented.
