Sažetak
Numerous results showed that underachieving university students present different cognitive, emotional and behavioral difficulties (Wong, 1996). They have higher test anxiety, more negative and less positive automatic thoughts. They have also stronger tendency to procrastinate (Stober, 2001). Our previous research showed that negative automatic thoughts related to fear of disappointing parents are the best predictor of students&#8217 ; satisfaction, success and efficiency (Živčić & Anić, 2001), as well as their test anxiety (Živčić, 2001). The main aim of this study was to further investigate the role of negative automatic thoughts and students&#8217 ; attribution of their success in their academic underachievement and test anxiety. Besides these cognitive factors, we also included some behavioral components, like learning habits and the tendency to procrastinate. The data are collected among students from different faculties and from different school years. The results will help in further development of cognitive-behavioral model to understand university students&#8217 ; academic underachievement and for further improvement of cognitive-behavioral interventions for treatment of students with academic underachievement and extreme test anxiety.
