Sažetak
Within this overview the influence of waves on damaged ship is observed. Numerical methods used for evaluation of damaged ship motions and loads that are developed by various authors are described. Experimental studies intended for the same purpose are presented.By overview of numerical methods it can be found that ship responseinduced by waves are solved by linear or non–linear boundary element method (BEM) solved in time domain. Mathematical models used for description of flooded water are simplified and the sloshing effect is neglected. In some modelsthe inflow and outflow seawater is simplified but nevertheless non–linear. In general, satisfactory agreements with experimental results are found especially in cases where heave and pitch are observed. Similar conclusion is found for vertical and horizontal wave bending moments. Conducted experimental studies are mostly done for Ro–ro ship or ships that are used as benchmarks (DTMB 5415 frigate). Tests were conducted at regular set of waves without forward ship speed with constant heading angles. Published measurements for other types of vessels are not found (as far as is known to the author).Also, testing for irregular waves for six–degrees of freedom is non–existing.
