Sažetak
Digitization of industry is in full swing, with it architecture and construction are changing as well. Digitalization of architecture not only saves time and money ; it also provides a lot of opportunities. The digital world is increasingly involved in collections, archives and libraries: at frst enormous quantities of analogue material was digitized and only recently with the newly created digital material. Does this create new research questions? The other question is who will use these digital archives and what are the needs of these users. The fact is that the digital archive material is quite heterogeneous ; other than architectural projects, it includes websites, games, art projects and the like. The third question is how to effectively train the students of architecture so to gain the basics to adequately use modern technology in such a turbulent digital world. The fact is that digitization exceeds the physical limitations of traditional archives, they are sustainably preserved and accessible which does not mean that everyone should have access. Architects and artists, not to mention software producers, want to minimize the risk of copying and using information for purposes other than research. Therefore, what needs to be done to make an architect become a digital architect and whether there is a digital architecture at all? Digitization can be successfully carried out only with appropriately qualifed staff.
