Sažetak
This paper presents a reflection on the need for the organization of student practical training at higher education institutions related to shipbuilding and marine engineering, as well as expected difculties in its performance in today’s organization of the Croatian economy. A critical view of the way and the possibility of its performance in the city of Split, as well as a list of undertakings in which the student practice could run is done. It also shows the importance and quality of organization student practical training, both within the higher education institution and companies in “Real sector”, in which will be a practice run, and particularly emphasized the importance of mutual coupling between: mentor-student / practitioner - Supervisor (in the company of „Real sector“). Finally, the proposal and execution of professional practice for students whose studies related to the exploitation of the ship, with a special emphasis on the preparatory- planning and production-technology of building functions in the construction of the ship is given.
