Sažetak
Managing (de)radicalisation processes has recently become an important task, which the police are primarily involved in. In order to be successful in planning activities, it is very important to understand how participants who encounter these phenomena perceive this content and how they assess the situation. The particular aim of the study was to analyse the effectiveness of training in the prevention of radicalization and extreme violence in Croatia. The analysis is based on a study involving 117 students of the Croatian Police College of the MoI. The data were collected during the students’ study courses in December 2018. A questionnaire was used to analyse participants' opinion on factors that influence the development of radicalization and violent extremism on an individual in Croatia. Participants of the study were interviewed at the beginning and after the end of the training to determine the influence of such training on their knowledge on extremism, violent extremism and the process of radicalization. Authors analysed whether after the training both the level of knowledge and the opinion of participants on conditions or factors affect the development of extremism and strengthening the radicalisation of an individual changed. The aim of a study was also to evaluate whether it is possible to strengthen the competencies of professionals in the field of analysis, using the respective training design.
