In the Republic of Croatia there is a certain number of radioactively contaminated sites, one of them being known as INA-VINIL site, which contains approximately 10.000 m3 of radioactive ash and slag. Due to relatively high specific radioactivity for such type of waste, as well as a high population density in the neighborhood area (about 250.000 dwellers within the 10 km radius), it is very important to assess possible impact of the site on human health and environment. The paper presents a brief description of INA-VINIL site. It also lists principal characteristics of RESRAD computer code which was used for the assessment of doses and cancer risk.
