Sažetak
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is efficacious in reducing suicide and self-injurious behaviors form pre-to post-treatment (Rosenthal & Rodriguez, in press). In DBT, diary cards are a crucial tool (see Figure 1) used to monitor central targets such as emotions, urges to engage in self-harm or suicide, and the frequency of self-injurious behavior. Shame strongly predicts self- injurious urges and behavior (Hastings et al., 2002) ; however, little is know about whether shame as measured on DBT diary cards is predictive of self-injury, or what day-to-day factors might influence the relationship between shame and urges. Given the evidence that suicidal behavior shows a peak in the middle of the week (Miller et al., 2012) we examined whether the day of the week might influence the link between daily experiences of shame and suicidal or self- harm urges.
