Sažetak
This paper provides a qualitative and quantitative overview of the FDI inflows in the CEE countries in general with a particular attention to the Republic of Croatia. Providing the FDI statistics of Croatia compared to other transitional economies, macroeconomic specifics of the country as well as the lack of transparency and the rule of law in the regulatory and institutional framework, the guiding objective of this paper is to delineate a potential agenda for further reforms. Namely, in not particularly attractive business environment for foreign investors, the prospects of Croatia fo not seem alluring. This is particularly true taking into consideration that involvement of Croatia into European integration processes and signing new agreements on free trade, as well as a removal of administrative bariers are the time consuming process. In addition, the political stabilization and the removal of legal insecurity demand not only declarative but practical enforcement.
