Sažetak
The present study was carried out on 56 Black Slavonian pigs, equally divided on barrows and gilts, kept outdoor in the traditional way. The pigs were reared on the pasture ; the basic diet for both groups was alfalfa ad libitum with the additional 2 kg of whole grains per pig/day. Composition of additional diet was 50% corn, 25% barley, 10% triticale, 15% extruded soybeans. Every three months, pigs were sacrificed for growth analysis of muscle and fat in the series of subsequent dissection trials covering a total fattening period of 18 months. Pigs were selected for dissection based on their live weight. In first four trials covering the period from 3rd to 12th months of age, 8 pigs were sacrificed, while from thereafter to the end of investigation the number of pigs sacrificed for investigation increased to 12. The method of dissection applied was the “Kulmbach reference method”. The data obtained in present study were analyzed by the use of user specified regresion from the module advanced linear/nonlinear models Dell Statistica v. 12 software (Dell Inc., 2015). For modelling the growth dynamics of the live weight, as well as the growth of muscle and fat tissue in the hams, an asymmetric S-function as a generalized form of Richardson function was used. The models for the live weight, the weight of hams, muscle and fat weight in the hams were: Live weight=270/(1+(0.0364664)*exp(- (8.1364)*0.01*x))^(1/0.01) with R=0.99503336 ; Ham weight=65/(1+(0.0410518)*exp(- (8.45329)*0.01*x))^(1/0.01) with R=0.99199911 ; Ham muscle weight=27/(1+(0.0351629)*exp(- (9.02182)*0.01*x))^(1/0.01) with R=0.99693856 and Ham fat weight=34/(1+(0.0566713)*exp(- (8.74226)*0.01*x))^(1/0.01) with R=0.98110883. The models had good prediction ability but, due to the well-known significant effect of the season on the growth characteristics of outdoor reared pigs, the resulting models can be used for the prediction of growth of selected traits only in the similar environmental and meteorological conditions.
