Sažetak
The book addresses changes which occurred in the shift from the old and new teaching paradigm. It provides clear distinctions between notions of evaluation, assessment, grading, testing and other. Assessment strategies used with young language learners are described with complementary assessment tasks. Foreign language teacher competences in the area of language assessment are discussed. A chapter is dedicated to research regarding practices in language assessment applied by teachers of English to young learners. The research was conducted among primary school English teachers in the Croatian context. The book comes to an end with identifying and establishing the range of knowledge and skills that teachers have in the area of foreign language assessment.
