Sažetak
Die Verwirklichung der Synodalität in der Kirche durch Synoden ist ein wichtiges Anliegen des Pontifikates von Papst Franziskus. Der Artikel reflektiert die Bedeutung der synodalen Praxis im Blick auf das Kirchenverständnis und das kirchliche Leben heute, hebt die zentralen Fragen hervor, die im Lernprozess des synodalen Werdens der Kirche zum Vorschein kommen, und wirft die Frage auf, wie dies in der Praxis zu realisieren ist. Im ersten Teil der Arbeit wird die Bedeutung des Synodalitätsbegriffes anhand der (neueren) Entwicklungen in der Kirche geklärt. Vor diesem Hintergrund wird die Anwendung der synodalen Methodologie im Rahmen der XV. Ordentlichen Generalversammlung der Bischofssynode von 2018 (der sog. Jugendsynode) analysiert und als Teil eines synodalen Prozesses interpretiert, der die Vision von einer synodalen Kirche durch Lernerfahrung vermitteln und alle Mitglieder der Kirche zu deren Realisierung einladen will.

Achieving synodality in the Church through synods is an important concern of Pope Francis and his pontificate. The article discusses the importance of the synodal practice in relation to understanding the Church and church life today. Central issues coming to light in the process of learning to become a synodal Church are highlighted. The question, how this can be put into practice is raised. The first part of the paper clarifies the meaning of the concept of synodality based on (recent) developments in the Church. Against this background, the application of the synodal methodology in the XV Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops of 2018 (the so-called Youth Synod) is analyzed. This is interpreted as an integral part of the synodal process which aims to transmit a vision of the synodal Church through an experience of transformative learning and to invite all members of the Church to realize it.
