Sažetak
This contribution examines the construction of "the people" in Serbia in 1988 by focusing on (1) the case of letters to the press, i.e. the practice of ordinary citizens writing to the major daily newspapers with their opinions and (2) political cartoons printed in newspapers which depict the struggles of ordinary people with political "bureaucrats".
