Sažetak
Over the past few years substituted benzimidazoles and their azino fused derivatives have been one of the most extensively studied classes of heterocyclic compounds and the constant and growing interest for their synthesis is owed mostly to their well-known broad range of biological features [1]. Cyclic benzimidazole derivatives with mostly excellent spectroscopic properties are important for their application in several other areas like optoelectronics or chemosensors, with side chain substituents designed to enable additional interactions with potential biological targets [2]. Herein we present the synthesis and structural characterization of novel pentacyclic amide benzimidazole derivatives as well as N-substituted benzimidazole derived amides substituted with methoxy groups. For the synthesis of novel targeted compounds, classical organic synthesis reactions as well as photochemical and microwave assisted synthesis were used. Additionally, structural and spectroscopic characterization of prepared benzimidazole derivatives was achived by using NMR and UV/Vis spectroscopy as well as mass spectrometry.
