Sažetak
The paper compares the thoughts about partisan warfare found in Carl Schmitt’s Theory of the Partisans (a note on the concept of the political) with those of Franjo Tuđman in his Rat protiv rata (War Against War). To point out their different perspectives on the phenomenon of partisan warfare, the introduction focuses on a biographical comparison of the two authors. We analyse their thinking through a comparison of the primary characteristics of the works concerned (period of publication, purpose, scope, divisions by thematic wholes, the historical range of the analysis, the method of the analysis). Further, their thinking is placed in the context of international law, since partisan war is an object of regulation in international law. Before concluding the entirety of the comparative analysis, we turn to their use of art and philosophy in considering the subject of partisan warfare. The conclusion examines the currency of their deliberations.
