Sažetak
We use the Green-Kubo theory and the transient time-correlation function formalism to respectively calculate the equilibrium strained solid viscosity and the general evolution of shear stress under constant shear rate. We propose a decomposition of the equilibrium viscosity into a diverging elastic part and the "effective viscosity, " which is finite for any strain in the elastic range, and show that the effective viscosity describes heat dissipation and the shear stress exceeding the equilibrium value under infinitesimally slow deformation. In the general case, the transient time-correlation function expression predicts the "elastic aftereffect, " i.e., the history dependence of the instantaneous value of shear stress and the heat dissipation during elastic relaxation on all the previous strains and strain rates. Finally, we discuss to which systems the presented theory applies
