Sažetak
Structural integrity of diesel generator base frame subjected to combinations of static, seismic, short circuit and synchronization fault loadings has been evaluated. The diesel generator set will be installed in the Ruppur Nuclear Power Plant Energetic Blocks 1 & 2 in Bangladesh. Based on the documentation provided by the Client, the Finite Element (FE) model has been generated. Natural vibration analysis, static analysis and forced vibration analysis were performed. Special attention was paid to seismic loading, where random time series of its components have been generated. Also, the structure response to 2- phase short circuit as well as synchronization failure is calculated. Number of necessary elastic supports has been defined and their strength has been checked. Relevant stresses in elastic springs were determined by analytical formulae, while FEM is used to determine von Mises stresses in the complete base frame structure. The calculated stresses are compared with the allowable values. Finally, appropriate design of the whole system (diesel generator set, base frame and elastic supports) was proposed for relevant load combinations and required safety factors.
