Sažetak
One of the ways to develop innovative products is to design using new technologies and smart materials. The concept is to add unique features to products to confer functions that go beyond the actual use and by exploring the symbolic aspect of the products to create a new user experience. Thus, the application of aromatic microcapsules presents itself as a way of giving the perceptual information to products that provide pleasant experiences during user interaction. This paper presents a study of application of polymeric aromatic microcapsules, applied to products that explore the sensory interaction potential that this technology can confer. Polymeric microcapsules with essential oil of red fruits were applied by silkscreen printing method. For application into two textiles (cotton and polyester), the microcapsules were mixed with two vehicles: water based silkscreen varnish and solvent based silkscreen varnish. Some aspects such as finish, application efficiency and durability were evaluated. As a result of applications and durability tests, it can be concluded that the most satisfactory results were those who had used the combination of microcapsules aromatic red fruit mixed with water based silkscreen varnish applied in to polyester and cotton, pointing out that this vehicle is more efficient for this type of microcapsule and application method. As a result of the application and durability tests, it can be it is possible to create a smart material to enhance user experience.
