Sažetak
Since broadband mobile Internet is far away from reaching the mainstream, the recent trend in the telecommunication industry has been the deployment of fixed broadband access networks at locations where travelers congregate. The access technology behind these access networks can be wired or, as the latest trend that caused a significant boost for this market, wireless. This paper focuses on Bluetooth wireless technology as a technology suitable for setting up public access networks. This technology is characterized by low power consumption, low cost and small footprint and is therefore suitable for mass-market deployment.
