Sažetak
Wearing of ploughshare cutting edge (CE) is conditioned by mechanical soil composition, (shape, hardness and size of particles) humudity, compaction as well as moving speed of operating power unit. CE wearing not only affect plougshare work life but has direct influence on losing given geometric shape that is a key element for achieving work quality, effect and fuel consumption. Dull plougshares, in the sense of agricultural engineering, adversely affect work quality, increase plough traction resistance and require higher motive power. Various attempts of preserving original ploughshare work shape are based on forming hard surface layer resistant to soil particles friction. This paper presents results of material and area wearing as well as preserving CE with 10 ploughshares testing (designated from P1 to P10) after 10 ha of soil ploughing on arable land of Belje in Baranya province in Croatia. The lowest percent reduction of exchengeable tip was determined with p3 of only 12.71 percent and the highest one at P8 aven 26.95 percent. The lowest mass loss was also determined with a P3 amounting 16.02 percent of initial mass. The same olougshare had the lowest area reduction of 9.84 percent, which was confirmed by best preserving cutting edge. The second ranged on the basis of mass and area loss is left plougshare P7 which lost 16.16 percent of mass and 12.91 percent of area. P3 and P7 accomplished best preserving cutting adges and thus are recommending for use. These two plougshares are product of the firm Belje p.l.c.-Remont Beli Manastir
