Sažetak
The intensification of the process of European integration began at the end of the eighties of the last century and has, consequently, led to significant changes in public administration systems of European countries. In this context, the central interest of the research is the relationship between the process of Europeanization and sub-national governmental levels. The main premise of the study is that the process of European integration and institutionalization of relations between the European Union and the Republic of Croatia have initialized the implementation of structural and functional reforms in the local government.It is also assumed that the changes in the local self-government system are implemented in order to increase the opportunities of participation in European governance.
