For seniors who do not have enough money for daily life, health and similar needs, but at the same time have valuable properties in which they live, and do not intend to sell them, meant the possibility of increasing their current income using the so-called. A reverse mortgage, which is in the world, as shown by an acceptable and increasingly popular solution. A reverse mortgage is a loan which the debtor are not effective, is not transmitted and on possible successors than this only of the mortgaged property, all other assets from possible savings, pensions, moving and other objects of real estate remains intact. The paper gives a presentation of the Polish Law about reverse mortgages. Given that we are talking about a very sensitive group of people, of course, is as the Central Bank has set tough conditions for a reverse mortgage, but because of the protection for pensioners, and because the banks are not turning into sellers of real estate. Finally, the author comes to the conclusion that this is not the time that a reverse mortgage is the introduction into the legal system of the Republic Croatia.
