Sažetak
Optimization of the micro-PIXE system sensitivity and overall performance of the analytical procedure is discussed on the basis of requirements on sample and experimental setup which are specific for analysis using focused beams. In addition to the measurement of quantitative PIXE detection limits, imaging limits for the detection of inhomogeneities in elemental distributions are studied using experiment simulations.
