Sažetak
The space of Croatian and South Slavistic Literatures and cultures is a space of (non)belonging in relation to several different paradigms. First of all, the postcolonial state of affairs very often in theoretical literature is not mentioned as relevant for the study of local culture and literature. Furthermore, this is the space of multicultural interaction that connects while at the same time is drawing borders between nations and communities. Within the contemporary Croatian and Bosnian literature there exist the space that can be studied with consideration of Bourdieu’s theory of literary fields. It is important to stress the fact that this is not a literary field in traditional sense of the word because the field is not clearly drowned. Also, it is difficult to define criteria of belonging. This ‘space in between’ was defined by the Bosnian authors of 1990’s, including Miljenko Jergović, Igor Štiks and Josip Mlakić. They started their writing careers as outsiders, but very soon they become most translated, and best sold authors. Their achievments contributed to multicultural attitude in the regional culture, and the developed of model of interference between European and Balkan complexes as alternatives, not the field of exclusion. This paper considers various aspects of the tactics produced in works of above mentioned authors with special consideration of tradition that is coming from the novels of Ivo Andrić.
