Sažetak
Long-standing problems with the productivity of the construction industry around the world require organizational changes in construction companies. The human work still has a dominant share in the cost of realization, therefore the increase in labor productivity is of essential importance. Possible measures are classified according to a number of criteria - towards whoever should take them, according to what they relate to, by the extent, by the time, by their action and with other characteristics. This paper analyzes barriers to increase construction productivity and shows the algorithm for finding appropriate corrective measures. The methodology for improving the productivity of contractors is primarily focused on increasing labour productivity and is cyclically implemented. It is always necessary to measure the realized size of productivity, comparison with the reference size and the examination of a number of factors affecting it. After analyzing influential factors, appropriate measures can be taken, which is specific to each company and project. In addition, the article provides an overview of the factors that have the greatest impact on the labour productivity in construction industry according to the results of the previous research and the list of measures that are in line with these proposed. There is in conclusion, a critical review of the situation and possibilities of such measures including contractors in Croatia. It emphasizes the need for state and clients contributed to the contractor's productivity from which everyone benefits.
