Sažetak
This work will be done by analyzing the texts published in the daily newspapers Jutarnji List and Večernji List from July 1, 2018 to June 30, 2019, specifically reporting on migrants, the migrant route and the migrant crisis. The aim of the paper is to determine the way in which the report on migrants and the migration crisis in the Republic of Croatia is addressed. As well as the relationship between the media and the language relating to the perception of migrants in everyday life of the citizens of the Republic of Croatia. The methodology will be focused on analyzing the language corpus of language syntaxes describing migrants and their arrival and / or permanent residence in the Republic of Croatia, in the most widely read daily newspapers, which have a significant impact on the public opinion that is formed. Featured metaphors will be analyzed in the context of cognitive linguistics and will serve as a basis for further research of this globalization problem. The purpose of this paper is to determine the impact that language metaphors have on the creation of attitudes and opinions of migrants in the Republic of Croatia.
