Sažetak
Interest in the application of restorative justice elements into criminal justice system was born out of a general dissatisfaction with traditional criminal justice, which ignores the crime victims, is seen as unsuccessful in reducing rates of recidivism, and fails to recognize crime as a form of social conflict. The key features of the restorative justice model are that it views crime as the violation of one person by another and focuses on problem solving, dialogue, repentance, and forgiveness. In Croatia, the adult criminal law system still contains overwhelmingly repressive elements and, therefore, there is a lot of room for improvement in the accessibility of elements of restorative justice.
