Sažetak
The privacy of an individual and the protection of the fundamental human right to privacy and personality are referred to as question mark in today’s society. Personality and privacy are becoming increasingly threatened by sophisticated technologies envisioned for either communication or surveillance(mobile devices, cameras, etc.)and the mass media in general. In a relatively short period of time, the Internet has become the most popular medium among children and young people. The modern "digital generation" in the digital environment from an early age is computer literate and therefore subject to the influences of new media, which can be clearly seen through the rise in crime and cybercrime to the detriment of children and the rise in juvenile delinquency. Young people spend more and more time on the Internet, and this is followed by high risks to their privacy and with need to protect their personal data. This paper will present the actual legal frame of protection of children’s privacy in European union with emphasis to General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) as well as information security measures in practice. Regarding the rising high risks to childrens privacy, by information security definition they are presented as “sensitive data” and have become the important part of information security of contemporary information science.
