Sažetak
The talk shows the results of the motivation of the students of primary teaching for an extension of their study programme to a study of the English language, which enables them to teach English in the primary classes of the Croatian school. The assessment is also given of the linguistic competence in the English language of the first two generations of the teacher-training study programme after its reform in 1992.
