Sažetak
Teaching and learning quality is the most important aspect of quality management at higher education institutions. Therefore, institutional strategies should emphasize the processes aimed at enhancing teaching and learning practices. The purpose of this paper is to examine the strategies for teaching and learning enhancement implemented at Croatian higher education institutions. More specifically, this paper aims to examine the institutional frameworks for teaching and learning enhancement and to identify practices that are implemented at Croatian higher education institutions. Data has been collected using on-line survey sent to two management representatives of 171 higher education institutions. In total, 135 replies were collected. The findings indicate that majority of Croatian higher education institutions implemented strategy for teaching and learning enhancement. However, the strategies have not fulfilled their goal to engage students and to increase the level of teaching and learning quality. This paper emphasizes the importance of teaching and learning strategies as a part of overall quality management at higher education institution and proposes a set of guidelines for management to improve teaching and learning quality.
