Sažetak
Some common language terms can have specific technical meanings depending on the certain discipline. The paper deals with the fundamental debate whether languages for specific purposes should be seen as mere subsystems of a common language or as a separate linguistic variety. The authors analyse the inventory of common language terms deriving from specialist dictionaries, on- line sources and encyclopaedia in order to find basic joint trait related to general meaning for terms in various disciplines.
