Cilj ovog preglednog rada je usporedba dvaju programa diplomske sveu iliane razine obrazovanja medicinskih sestara. Sukladno tome, u injena je komparacija kurikuluma dvije diplomske razine obrazovanja u podru ju napredne sestrinske prakse. Radi se o Advancing Nursing Practice programu sa Sveu iliata u Edinburghu i Diplomskom sveu ilianom studiju Sestrinstvo - menad~ment u sestrinstvu sa Fakulteta zdravstvenih studija u Rijeci. Naglasak pregleda kurikuluma na spomenutim fakultetima stavljen je na nastavne sadr~aje koji uklju uju izobrazbu u znanstveno istra~iva kom segmentu kao zna ajnom preduvjetu razvoja znanosti u sestrinstvu. Prikazani rezultati zaklju no pokazuju da je zastupljenost znanstveno istra~iva kih sadr~aja izobrazbe na diplomskim programima bio do prije dvije godine zna ajno razli it te da je sadaanjom usporedbom vidljivo zamjetno poboljaanje kvalitete edukacije studenata na Fakultetu zdravstvenih studija u podru ju stjecanja kompetencija u znanstveno istra~iva kom radu. Potreba za podizanjem kvalitete u izobrazbi znanstveno istra~iva kih sadr~aja vidljiva je uvoenjem novih predmeta ato je rezultiralo redizajniranjem kurikuluma koji ima za cilj podizanje kompetetncija u pripremi studenata za istra~ivanja u sestrinstvu temeljenih na znanstvenoj metodologiji. The aim of this review is to compare two programs of graduate university levels of nursing education. Consequently, comparisons of the curriculum of two graduate levels of education in the field of advanced nursing practice were made. It is the Advancing Nursing Practice Program from the University of Edinburgh and the Graduate University Study of Nursing -Health Care Management at the Faculty of Health Studies in Rijeka. The emphasis of the curriculum review of the aforementioned faculties has been put on teaching contents that include education in the scientific research segment as a significant precondition for the development of science in nursing. The results show that the representation of the scientific research content in the graduate degree programs was significantly different two years ago, and that the present comparison shows noticeable improvements in the quality of education of students at the Faculty of Health Studies in the field of acquiring competences in scientific research. The need to raise quality in the education of scientific research content is evident in the introduction of new courses that resulted in redesigning of the curriculum aimed at raising the level of expertise in preparing students for nursing research based on scientific methodology.
