Sažetak
Sight distance (horizontal, vertical) is one of the key factors in ensuring traffic safety at the level intersections and access points. Despite the relatively clearly defined demands in the legislation (eg. Act about public roads), where are defined responsibilities - both road owners and land owners in ensuring sight distances - in the everyday practice in this field situation is very different. Often - especially within/inside urban areas - inadequate sight distances "solve" with just a road mirrors, which often is not enough (or good solution). The purpose of this paper is to make a comparison of different standards/guidelines/ policies that define the scope of the sight distances on the level crossings/access points, carry out an analysis of sight distances and perform the analysis of sight distances according to real motor vehicle speeds. The aim of this paper is to examine the adequacy of existing calculations stand-ards in the level crossings and access points and define differences between calculations - ac- cording different standards/regulations.
