Sažetak
In this paper chitosan powder was implemented into cotton/polyester (PES/CO) fabric with the aim of durable treatment. For that purpose, as 1st step 20 % NaOH was applied to PES/CO fabric to activate fabric surface. 2nd step was implementation of chitosan powder to such opened structure on jigger. For the durability investigation, 10 washing cycles were performed according to ISO 6330:2012 using standard ECE colour fastness test detergent with phosphates. The characterization was performed after 1, 5 and 10 cycle on FTIR, EKA and MesdanLab Strength Tester. The results confirm that the treatment resulted in chitosan implementation inside the PES/CO fabric, and that the treatment is durable for 10 washing cycles.
