Sažetak
This paper is a research about current tendencies in scientific-technological development of EU countries and other high developed countries in the world, as well as strategies of scientific-technological development in transition countries of Central and East Europe. Apart from the introduction and conclusion, the paper consists of three important parts: 1. The social and economical essence of current scientific-technological development of EU and mutual scientific politics, 2. Current trends in scientific-technological development of EU and other high developed countries of the world and the level of scientific-technological development, 3. Strategies of accelerated scientific-technological development in transition countries of Central and East Europe, as an important presumption of accelerated economical progress. The Republic of Croatia by the level of scientific-technological development is quite behind the level of scientific-technological development of EU and other high developed countries in the world. Therefore, it is necessary to make your own strategy for scientific-technological development which will be based on specifics and scientific potential of Croatia, founded on experience of high developed countries.
