Sažetak
The aim of the work is to present experience in implementation of the standard HRN EN ISO/IEC 17043:2010 "Conformity Assessment - General requirements for proficiency testing" into the practice of the Reference Laboratory for Milk and Dairy Products (RL). RL has been organizing proficiency tests for official, scientific and industrial dairy laboratories in the Republic of Croatia and abroad since 2003. In accordance with the requirement (point 7.7.2 a) of the new edition of HRN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2019 (ISO/IEC 17025:2017), accredited laboratories are required to participate in proficiency tests whose providers "meet the requirements of HRN EN ISO/IEC 17043“, which imposed an obligation on RL to fully comply with these requirements. The quality manual covers procedures, operating instructions and data entry forms in accordance with the requirements of HRN EN ISO/IEC 17043:2010, which was implemented in January 2019 into the regular practice of the RL. Proficiency tests include physico-chemical and microbiological analyses of milk, as well as physico-chemical analyses of cheese, cream, fermented milk and butter. RL uses mostly quantitative testing scheme in which users have to measure the proportion or concentration of specific components in milk and dairy samples. In some cases, a qualitative scheme is used to describe certain characteristics of milk samples (alcohol test and the presence of antibiotics). The reference values of the measurement results are determined by accredited reference methods and/or on the basis of users results. The analysis of the homogeneity and stability of the samples is carried out in accordance with the requirements of standard HRN ISO 13528:2017 "Statistical methods for use in proficiency testing by interlaboratory comparison”. Performance evaluation is determined by calculating the Z and En values of users results, while the standard deviation for proficiency testing (ϭpt) is determined on the basis of experience from previous proficiency testing rounds. After obtaining the accreditation certificate, RL will be the first laboratory in the field of food analytics in the Republic of Croatia accredited to organize the proficiency testings and to evaluate participants aqainst pre- established criteria by means of interlaboratory comparisons.
