Sažetak
The paper analyzes the impact of direct external factors on energy demand during the process of hot mix asphalt production. The elements stemming from the conditions of depositing and producing mineral mixture used in the production of asphalt mixtures are observed as external influencing factors. The paper analyzes the impact of external weather conditions, the moisture content and the temperature of mineral mixture on energy consumption in the rotary dryer. From the conducted research, it can be concluded that energy consumption in the process of asphalt mix production is significantly influenced by moisture content in the mineral mixture. From the obtained results, it is evident that the decrease of moisture content in mineral mixture results in reduction of energy consumption for 36.3% (winter period) to 38.5% (summer period).
