Sažetak
Growing interest in metal organic frameworks (MOFs) for their applications in catalysis, storage, separation etc. induced the need for greener and simpler synthetic procedures. Mechanochemistry proved as a viable alternative to conventional solution approach, with benefits demonstrated in lowering the need for solvents, high temperatures, acid catalysis, and excess amount of starting materials. Herein we present application of mechanochemical technique, liquid-assisted grinding (LAG), for rapid, green and scalable synthesis of relevant Zr-MOFs, i.e. UiO-type MOFs (fcu topology) based on 12-coordinated Zr metal nodes. In situ synchrotron PXRD data helped in establishing mechanistic details for these reactions and helped optimizing synthetic conditions.[1] UiO- 67 prepared by this approach has the highest BET surface area value among MOFs prepared by ball milling synthesis. All mechanochemically synthesized MOFs show thermal and chemical stability, good catalytic activity and porosity similar to their solvothermally synthesized counterparts. They can be scaled up by planetary mill and solid-state flow synthesis to multi-gram quantities.[2] [1] B. Karadeniz, .. O. Farha, T. Friščić , K Užarević , Chem. Comm. 54 (2018) 6999. [2] B.
