Sažetak
The history of the term Kingdom of God is set in the context of political dimension of the Old Testament faith. This leads us to considering the proclamation of the Kingdom of God as we seen it in the New Testament, whereas Jesus differs it from the politics. Some of his sayings were used as proofs for apolitical standpoint of his proclamation. Regardless of necessary distinction between the notions politics and Kingdom of God, their utter separation is not grounded because Christianity in its worldview calls for active participation in this world that also includes politics. Finally, the term Kingdom of God is a political metaphor and like it, puts in its tasks the common good and social interaction. Jesus Christ was not a politician whatsoever, but his action and life were in a way politically colored. This was especially seen in a political dimension of his cross. His cross later releases many impulses for the critique for both society and politics. It subversively becomes a symbol of revolt against every single death today: in the area of political oppression, negligence, sickness, loneliness, sin. Christian eschatological thought questions politics today because the category of salvation is not reserved only for the time beyond this worldliness. Moreover, the Christian eschatological worldview considers salvation to be with and not without this world and hence is necessarily directed to question politics and its protagonists.
