Sažetak
Earthworms are known as key organisms in soil ecosystems and their population dynamics is influenced by many abiotic and biotic factors. The main aim of this study was to construct a simulation model for prediction of the abundance of earthworm population as a function of soil temperature and soil water content. Within this study a stage structured model of earthworm populations with weekly time projection interval was constructed based on the available literature data on the earthworms life cycle. Models are driven by soil temperature and moisture content. Within the model individuals were divided into three stages: cocoons (C), juveniles (J) and adults (A). Three separate models were created based on the earthworm ecological category: endogeic, epigeic and anecic.
