Sažetak
I have studied deposits of Upper Cretaceous and Tertiary age in the area of North Adriatic, (Kvarner region), at two representative localities: 1) Kolombera-Koromačno 2) Voz-Krk Island Research has shown that the Upper Cretaceous / Paleogene boundary at the mentioned localities is marked with erosion, (hiatus). Hiatus at the Kolombera-Koromačno locality is marked with cave sediments, while at the Voz-Krk locality there are Neptunian dykes. Transgression at the begining of Paleogene is marked with Liburnian deposits, (shallow marine to brachish facies), at Kolombera-Koromačno locality. Gradual deepening of the enviroment led to the development of the fecies defined by rich fauna of benthic foraminifera, (alveolinid-nummulitid limestones), at Voz-Krk locality. The hiatus at Voz-Krk locality is therefore of longer stratigrafic span. Both localities have erosional and transgressive contact of Upper Cretaceous and older Paleogene.
