Sažetak
The bulk of this collection is an annotated language corpus of more than fifty-five hours of audio/video recordings in the two dialects of the Istro-Romanian—Vlashki and Zheyanski. The recordings were collected between 2007 and 2014 from native, fluent and active speakers living in Croatia. Most of the audio/video recordings consist of narratives, guided conversations and procedural discourse depicting elements of local lifestyle and history. All speakers are adults and over 40 years of age. The language corpus also contains a Fieldworks Language Explorer database with a trilingual Vlashki/Zheyanski- Croatian-English dictionary and forty-two morpho- syntactically annotated texts (transcriptions of oral history interviews) with Croatian and, partially, English translations. Also included are more than twenty edited short video clips with subtitles, made from the collected oral history or procedural discourse videos and produced for the benefit of the communities and general audiences. In addition, two videos of performed speech produced by children are included. The collection also contains copies of eight publications produced for the purposes of language preservation and use by the communities: three language learning programs for adults and children in book and audio formats, a picture book, two illustrated and annotated village area maps with extensive trilingual descriptions of sites ; and a book, a catalogue for the exhibition of old photographs, with extensive bilingual ethnographic/historical descriptions of the photographs. The collection is associated with the community-oriented language website at http://www.vlaski- zejanski.com, in existence since 2010, which could not be made part of the collection at this point, but is active and can be consulted online.
