Sažetak
The invention of turbo codes has revolutionized the field of channel coding. Their growing success and their introduction in many important international standards (UMTS for third generation mobile telephony, DVB for digital video broadcasting, CCSDS for telemetry from space) has generated an enormous interest for new or reinterpreted codes, able to approach the Shannon limit as never before. This "Workshop on channel coding techniques" covers many theoretical and practical aspects on this field. The presented papers, produced by academic and industrial researchers, investigate many areas which are important for research and practical applications, including code design and performance analysis, decoding, implementation and behavior on real channels.
