Sažetak
This paper presents and analyses use case scenarios for applying emerging 5G technology in broadcast television (TV) applications, or 5G broadcast. Paper gives an overview of 5G technologies and various requirements that it should meet, with an emphasis on the Release 14 specifications that provide guidelines for achieving 5G broadcast and introduces major advancements in the Evolved Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Services (eMBMS). Advanced 5G mobile networks will help broadcasters to improve their broadcast chain in two segments, analysed in this paper: transmission and distribution of the signal, and content creation. We listed major projects focused on testing the transmission aspect of 5G Broadcast as well as scenarios to utilise 5G technology for remote content production.
