Sažetak
The paper provides insight into the general picture of the crafts sector, whose activity can be classified under the common denominator of “traditional crafts, knowledge or skills.” Unlike other forms of intangible cultural heritage, traditional crafts are extremely sensitive to changes in the economic environment. Moreover, since it is essentially an economic activity by which the tradition bearer ensures subsistence, the economic viability of the business is crucial to their survival. This research points to the need for a more comprehensive framework for observing and analyzing the position of traditional crafts, in cooperation and under the auspices of key stakeholders – ministries in charge of culture and crafts, local and regional governments and the craftsmen themselves.
