Sažetak
The lack of systematic methodologies for the maintenance of concrete structures causes the increased life-cycle costs and results in the reduced functionality and safety of structures as early as after 20 years of use. This leads to the average annual cost of $7 trillion to improve the world infrastructure, with the worry that 50% of repair shows signs of degradation already after 5 years. Premature degradation means that there is the need to change the quality control system and to reduce the significant gap between the results of laboratory testing and the behaviour of repair materials in real exposure conditions and implement a systematic approach to concrete repair. At the same time, although there are still many unknowns within the implementation of the traditional repair materials, UN Sustainable Development Agenda implies that by 2030 is necessary to upgrade infrastructure and retrofit industries to make them sustainable, with increased resource-use efficiency and greater adoption of clean and environmentally sound technologies and industrial processes. The objective of this paper is to give an overview on a systematic approach to concrete repair and development of innovative materials desperately need to establish an eco-efficient repair of concrete structures.
