Sažetak
This paper presents concept of reconfigurable inspection system in accordance with stated characteristics. Two important factors that characterize modern manufacturing system are shortening of product lifetime and an increase in the variety of products in order to satisfy the customers’ requirements. Such market conditions affect changes in the manufacturing technology that must become rapidly and effectively adaptable to new requirements. Hence, the reconfigurable concept is accepted and led to the development of reconfigurable manufacturing systems (RMS). The vital component of RMS, besides production machinery and fixtures, is quality control and inspection equipment. Therefore, in order to establish an effective RMS, inspection equipment must be designed and used in accordance with the concepts of reconfigurability. Nowadays, researches in this area are quite modest. Thus, the proposed research is focused on the development of the methodology of design for the reconfigurable inspection system (RIS), which is based on contactless measurements.
