Sažetak
The design of sparse FIR filters leads to combinatorial optimization problems, which can be rarely solved in an acceptable time. Therefore, many approximate methods have been considered. Most of them are focused on the design of linear-phase filters whereas only few of them pay attention to nonlinear-phase design. In this paper, we propose a method for the design of sparse nonlinear-phase FIR filters. In particular, we consider lowpass filters whose magnitude responses are constrained in a minimax sense. The proposed method utilizes lp-norm with 0 < p < 1 as the measure of filter's sparsity. Based on this norm, we form the optimization problem for filter design. We solve this problem by using signomial programming. Finally, we illustrate by examples that combination of an lp-norm with 0 < p < 1 and signomial programming can be effectively used in the design of nonlinear-phase FIR filters.
