Sažetak
The fig tree (Ficus carica L.) is important fruit species in Mediterranean part of Croatia. Occurrence of plant pathogens and disease incidence on fig in Croatia is not investigated well enough. In order to determine occurrence of plant pathogens and disease incidence on fig trees, appearance of disease symptoms during five year period (2014-2018) was monitored on different locations in Croatia (Dalmatia and Istra). Identification of fungal plant pathogenic species was performed on the basis of morphological characters of their spore-bearing structures and spores and with molecular analysis of genomic DNA (PCR). The presence of viruses was tested by RT-PCR and PCR. Three common fungal species were determined on fig tree in all years of investigation. Species Phomopsis cinerescens (syn. Diaporthe cinerascens) causal agent of leaf blotches and canker of twigs, species Cerotelium fici (syn. Kuehneola fici)causal agent of lef rust and species Passalora bolleana (syn. Pseudocercospora bolleana) causal agent of leaf spots. In 2015., the incidence of rust disease was extremely high and in epidemic proportions in whole Croatia.Beside fungal pathogens two viruses of fig trees were frequentyl found: Fig mosaic virus (FMV) and Fig badnavirus 1 in all tested trees. Trees infected with FMV were exhibiting different patterns of mosaic symptoms.
