Sažetak
On the basis of archival research conducted in the Croatian State Archives and Archive of the Ministry of Culture, the author presents the education and the specific role and authority of the Commission for gathering and preserving cultural monuments and antiquities in Croatia. KOMZA's documentation contains much information on the fates of art objects not only in the first years following the war, but also during the Second World War. This renders it an invaluable source of researching provenance and (ownership) transfer mechanisms in Croatia.
